Early Years Education Services (Eyes)

In these classes, babies as young as 6 months old begin to learn through music whilst having fun with whoever brings them – we have mums, dads, grandmas, granddads, friends, nannies and childminders.

The following lessons are available:-

Baby (6months onwards)
Toddler (2years to 3 years)
Pre-school (age 3 to school age)
General Musicianship (Reception/year 1)
Foundation recorder classes
Group instrumental tuition

Research shows that children benefit in many ways from learning music at an early age. We view our pre-school classes not only as music lessons, but also as an excellent opportunity to educate children in a much broader sense. For the past 22 years, we have been developing children’s motor, social, literacy, mathematical and musical skills within these classes and have seen many of our pupils go on to enjoy great success both musical and academic,

French

In addition to the music lessons, Early Years Education Services teaches French to both children and adults. Children start their language tuition from as early as 18 months of age, but we can offer a class to suit virtually any requirement right through to GCSE/A level support and adult conversational French.

Examinations are held three times per year using the ABRSM and TRINITY GUILDHALL Boards

Over the past few years, our pupils have graduated from Trinity College London, the Royal Welsh Conservatoire, and the music departments of various universities. We have also sent pupils to Chethams in Manchester, BUT the majority of our pupils have simply progressed as musicians and people, enjoying their music making with us as they have grown up.

Music Provision for External Groups

Increasingly, it is becoming accepted that music is a vital educational tool. For young children in nurseries and pre-school groups, it can be used as a means of working on many of the area that the Department pf Education views as essential for development. Here, we are referring not only to music but the possibility of working on areas such as social skills, literacy mobility, listening skills, gross and fine control, creativity etc. Our highly trained and qualified staff have great experience in working with groups of children to allow them to get the most from their music.

So how do I sign up for lessons?

Well, whether you’ve always wanted to learn an instrument or to have singing lessons it’s really very easy. Just phone or email and talk to Alison. She’ll do all she can to organize lessons for you or you children. So what are you waiting for? We can’t promise that you’ll turn out to be Mozarts or Gershwins, but we can assure you that everyone can have fun with music.
